- Camp Staff Interview Dates – Winter Camp, University of Scouting, As needed by Zoom, & February 7th at the Service Center
- Camp Staff Paperwork Day – March 28th at the Service Center
- Camp Staff Development Weekend – April 24-26th at Camp Davy Crockett
- Pre-Camp Leader’s Meeting (Online with Teams) – April 23rd | 7-8:00pm ET

Dale Douthat | Reservation Director
Dale Douthat serves as the the Reservation Director. He has served on the Camp Davy Crockett Wednesday Crew for over 20 years. Dale has +30 years of BSA unit and District leadership, including time as Scoutmaster, Assistant Cubmaster and District Commissioner. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. Before retiring from Eastman Chemical Company, he specialized in training, and organizational management. He enjoys paddling and backpacking having completed the Appalachian Trail. Dale resides at Camp Davy Crockett in Whitesburg, TN where he oversees year-round operations. Dale and his late wife Cheryl have three daughters, a son, and 8 grandchildren.
John Mayros | Camp Director
John Mayros serves as the Camp Director for Camp Davy Crockett. John has worked with Scouting for more than 10 years serving units, running programming, and developing lasting relationships. After retiring from the Navy – where he met his beautiful wife Kristina – he worked in education and ultimately found his way to Scouting America. Serving for the West Tennessee Area Council for the first part of his Scouting Career, he join the Sequoyah Council and Camp Davy Crockett team in 2024. John and Kristina have two sons and enjoy spending time outside as much as they can.
Zephaniah Wells | Program Director
Zephaniah Wells has been on staff at Camp Davy Crockett since 2018. In that time, he has worked as a Merit Badge Instructor, Scoutcraft Director, Ecology Director, and Assistant Program Director. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. He is also an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 240, in Gray, TN. This summer, he hopes to make the camp experience for every Scout as special as it was for him. When not at camp, Zeph studies literature at ETSU, and enjoys singing and reading poetry in the great outdoors.
