Merit Badge Programs

Dates / Timeline

  • Merit Badge Registration goes live
  • Deposit of $25 per Scout attending is due to hold your campsite selection at time of registration
  • Recruit at least two adult leaders to attend Camp
  • Inform Scouts, Leaders, parents as well as Arrow of Light Scouts of the Summer camp dates
  • Distribute Merit Badge Selection Worksheets or Parent Portal access codes for Scouts and parents to make Merit Badge selections and payments
  • 1st Payment of $100 is due by February 28th
  • Scouts continue to make class selections
  • Remind Scouts about scheduling a physical to complete the BSA Annual Health & Medical Record
  • Second $100 payment is due March 31st
  • Hold a Pre-camp Parent Meeting
  • Campership (Financial Assistance) Requests are due April 30th
  • Balance of all Camp fees due April 30th
  • Follow-up on any Scout not registered to attend camp to see if they can attend as a provisional Scout a different week
  • Collect BSA Annual Health & Medical Records (retain a copy for Troop records)
  • Ensure that the Adult leaders that are attending camp are registered and have completed youth protection training
  • Hold an inspection of personal gear and Troop equipment
  • Invite Parents to Family night
