Dale Douthat | Camp Director
Dale Douthatserves as the the Camp Director. He has served on the Camp Davy Crockett Wednesday Crew for over 14 years. Dale has 30 years of BSA unit and District leadership, including time as Scoutmaster, Assistant Cubmaster and District Commissioner. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. Before retiring from Eastman Chemical Company, he specialized in training, and organizational management. He enjoys paddling and backpacking having completed the Appalachian Trail. Dale resides at Camp Davy Crockett in Whitesburg, TN where he oversees year-round operations. Dale and his wife Cheryl have three daughters, a son and 8 grandchildren.
J.D. Lawson | Program Director
J.D. Lawson has been on staff at Camp Davy Crockett for over a decade. In that time, he has worked as a merit badge councilor, first year camper program director, archery instructor, and assistant shooting sports director. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. He is also an assistant scoutmaster in Troop 604, in Big Stone Gap, Va. This summer he will oversee the program offered at camp and insure that the staff is prepared to present the program to the best of their ability. When not at camp, J.D. is a teacher and basketball coach at Castlewood High School in Russell County Virginia.
